Hollywood: Easy win for Majestic

Majestic City ($2.40) was the easy winner of the Willard Proctor Memorial Stakes for 2-year-olds at Hollywood Park on Sunday, scoring by 3 1-2 lengths much to the delight of deep-pocketed show bettors.

Majestic City attracted $385,744 of the $410,907 bet to show on the race, resulting in a minus show pool of $74,950.

Ridden by David Flores, Majestic City ran 5 1-2 furlongs in 1:04.16, extending his unbeaten streak to two races. He was backed out of the stalls before the race, was reloaded quickly and had little trouble with four overmatched rivals. "He went back in (the gate) and came out nicely," Flores said. "The field was very weak and it was just a matter of getting an easy lead and teaching him to relax. There was nobody to battle, so I had to kind of get after him late just to keep his mind busy."
