Hollywood: Cool win for Family Plan


Family Plan ($5.60) scored an impressive win against maiden 2-year-old fillies on turf in Friday's fifth race.

Family Plan was just behind the leaders on the final turn, waited briefly at that stage of the race, emerged on the outside of Weekend Party turning for home and won easily, with little urging from jockey Corey Nakatani, who spent several strides assessing the status of his rivals before urging his mount clear late.

Family Plan ran 1 1-16 miles in 1:42.42, finishing ahead of Anniversary Girl. Family Plan races for Glen Hill Farm and trainer Tom Proctor. She was fifth in her debut at Hollywood Park in June and second in two maiden races on turf in late August and mid-October.

After Memo to Kathy ($14.60) won the first leg, the next two legs of the pick six werer won by logical horses - Dana Dynamo ($4.60) and Family Plan.
