Hollywood: A claimed double


The first two winners of Friday's eight-race program were both claimed.

In the first race, run over a mile on turf for fillies and mares, Holy Flapper ($6.20) won by a neck over El Nadia and was claimed by Dean Greenman. Holy Flapper has won 3 of 10 starts and two of her last three races. Friday's race was her first start since March 31 and first time that she had raced for a claiming price. Van Brit, the 3-2 favorite, finished last of five in the field.

In the second race, Unusual Jazz ($6.80) led or disputed the pace throughout 7 1-2 furlongs and won a maiden claimer by a neck over 4-5 favorite Joker Face. Unuzual Jazz was making his second start, having finsihed a fast-closing second in his debut on June 17. Friday, he was claimed by John Sadler.

The $2 early double of Holy Flapper and Unusual Jazz paid $26.
