Hollywood: Better with age?

Cost of Freedom scored his third consecutive stakes win of the fall, all at Hollywood Park, in the minor Miles Tyson Stakes on Saturday, setting a five-furlong track record of 56.14 seconds.

At the end of his 7-year-old campaign, Cost of Freedom is his best form in the last year. He won the Cal Cup Sprint in October and the Grade 3 Vernon Underwood Stakes last month, taking advantage of the absence of the circuit's top sprinters who ran in the Breeders' Cup at Churchill Downs in early November.

The next test for Cost of Freedom is the $200,000 Sunshine Millions Sprint for California-breds and Florida-breds over six furlongs at Santa Anita on Jan. 29. For Cost of Freedom, it will be his first start on a conventional dirt track since the summer of 2006.
