Email

Trainer Vann Belvoir won his first race at Hollywood Park when the Northern California invader Macho Dorado rallied from off the pace to win Saturday's first race, an optional claimer over 7 1-2 furlongs for California-breds.

Ridden by Chantal Sutherland, Macho Dorado ($23.60) caught longtime leader Senator Bob in the final sixteenth to win by a half-length in 1:29.66

Belvoir has a stable based primarily at Emerald Downs this summer and had runners at Golden Gate Fields earlier this year.

There were two horses eligible to be claimed in the field of seven - Twoattten Tenattwo and Cahill Country - and they were claimed for $25,000 by Kristin Watanabe and Jack Carava. Cahill Country finished sixth, while Tenatten Tenattwo was last.
