Here's the final Breeders' Cup lineup of races, followed by your 2012 horse-by-horse cheat sheet, with starts, victories, earnings, highest winning level, career-best Beyer Speed Figure and trainer for each horse. I'll be augmenting this chart with odds, sires and other tidbits in the days ahead. Final fields with riders (and the undercard races) will be drawn Monday.
Pre-entry past performances are up, so get cracking.
In the chart below, stats for each of the 180 pre-entered horses are listed in the body of their first-preference races, with second-preference entrants listed at the bottom of each race. The 180 pre-entrants have combined to win 797 of 2,176 career starts (36.6 %) and earned $115.9 million.

As a P4/P5 bettor I'm quite frankly a little stunned by the configuration of those bets. There's no early P4 on Friday involving the Juvie Sprint and Marathon; instead they've overlapped 3 races and tacked on the much anticipated Twilight Derby to the late P4. The Juvenile is not a part of any P4 or P5, with an obvious substitute being the Turf Sprint. And there is not one P5 comprised solely of Cup races..... Shaking my head, facepalm, etc....

What awful betting options. Two Pick-4's on Day 1 and they overlap in THREE races? What the hell? Two Pick 4's on Saturday and the Juvenile isn't included. I mean, why not have 3 Pick 4's on BOTH days. So stupid. How do you mess this up?

i added the cheat sheet to my favorites and it printed out right away.......$.10 min on superfectas for the BC races?
|
The BC has to adopt some kind of qualification rule. Hazardous in the Juv Sprint is a cheap claimer. # lifetime races. Broke maiden in 12K claimer then ran for 16K and 20K. This horse should not be in the BC,

Weather forecast for Elmont, NY next week???? Don't ever wonder why u won't get the Breeders' Cup again at Belmont. Just watch the replays from the BC at Monmouth 2007.

Not a single first time lasix Euro in the entire BC card ?!?!?! Last 3 years euros are 1/19 in the money WITHOUT lasix.....
Only Nahrain & Treasure Beach are getting lasix and they both have had it before before.
Cogito getting it again also but now in O'Neill barn.
Even St Nicholas Abbey isn't getting lasix and he had it last year when he won.
Bet on the Euros without lasix at your own peril !!!
And yes they can and have won races without in the past.
But 1/19 ??? and that was an even $ favorite in the turf when it had 7 horses !!!!
In last 3 years the Euros have had 10 winners with lasix and 1/19 itm without .........
Sorry but I just don't believe in coincidences

Live it to thoroughbred racing to experiment with no lasix on the biggest weekend of the year. I find this incredibly stupid. However - what else would one expect from thoroughbred racing.

Steve, DRF needs to continue to hammer the issue that a Breeders Cup in California four out of six years is killing the concept of the races. It doesn't have to be at Churchill every year but clearly California is not drawing enough horses and it takes away from the appeal of the race for the casual fan. If there are not 14 horses in each race, except the Turf, something is wrong. 5 million bucks for the Classic? You have got to be kidding me that owners gave that purse to Game On Dude without much of a fight.
|
Wish they would have left the Juvenile races out of the major multi race wagers. The no Lasix rule is too unpredictable.

Best Bets
MOST HAPPY FELLA, reclaimed from last, drops to easier spot after setting pressured pace vs. odds-on Pinball; both wins last year came on this track. ARTIE LUVSTO PARTY has a knack for surprises, with three lifetime wins coming at 33-1, 17-1 & 11-1 (two on this track); entrymate EQUIVOCATION gets major rider switch first off a claim. PURE ATTITUDE among top 3 in wins & earnings and snug fit to date clause.
