Couldn't disagree more! First of all, if a horse is healthy and owners are willing to pay the price then let the horse run. One of the things that keep horse racing go it is that all owners dream! (I actually was a small partner of a horse that ran 2nd in a Claiming Crown Race and asked the owner about the BC-He (rightfully) laughed at me but nontheless my philosophy is "If you feel froggy, leap" And 2 other things to remember: First 2yos can improve out of nowhere, and secondly (the big point) is that with the lasix ban in 2yo races, if I had a half-way decent horse who has shown thru scoping, breeding, etc. that he may not bleed coming off lasix, I'd enter him in a heartbeat. The lasix ban makes this a crapshoot!

Belmont deserves to be a part of the BC rotation regarless of weather concerns, which are valid.

Weather is a major concern and that along with Belmont is in much need of a face lift, sunny California and a well maintained track such as Santa Anita bring alot of appeal and most important $$$$$$$$$$. Good weather beautiful track brings out the people and that is the bottom line.

Matt: The weather this year (Sandy) is arguably a freakish storm already dubbed a "Frankenstorm" (a term that legendary New York air personality Dan Ingram in his days on WCBS-FM in the early-to-mid 1990s often used, calling such the "Channel 2 Weather Monster" as homage to the fact the legendary father-and-son weather team of Dr. Frank and Storm Field were on WCBS-TV at the time). I'm sure BC Ltd. is breathing a huge sigh of relief the BC is not at Belmont Park (where a lot of people wanted it), Monmouth Park or even Churchill Downs as Sandy would have played major havoc with any of those locations (including Churchill, which could be looking at SNOW from this system middle of next week). That said, Belmont should be looked at for future BCs, especially if lights are installed that allow the BC to be at night as I do think we are headed in that direction (and already have been somewhat with some of the BC races under the lights the last two years at CD and the BC Classic this year in Saturday night prime time in the east for the first time ever).

The question of which older horses will run on Lasix will not be answered until entries are taken Monday. Pre-entries, and thus pre-entry pp's, do not have that information so it's too soon to say there won't be any first-time Lasix with the Euros.

I'm sure some or all the Euros will run with lasix. Look at Treasure Beach 5 races in the US & lasix every time. It just doesn't make sense to me that when running in Europe they run without it & when they run here they use it just like all the local horses. This tells me that there must be an advantage to using lasix, why give something to the horses just for the heck of it. I hope they eventually ban this drug!

Only 9 entered in juvee fillies with 5 of them cross entered in Juvee Sprint. Hope they go to gate with 4 horses so the asses who thought this one up can be embarrassed.

a healthy horse doesnt need lasix and if all of the horses in the race aren't on it then it is a fair race.
