GULFSTREAM: What was Bravo supposed to do?

Although the stewards predictably left the number of  Smart City Doc up in the second race I really wonder what they thought poor Joe Bravo on the runner-up U K Girl should have done through the stretch after the winner first came out in front of her near the sixteenth pole then angled right back in front of her again after Bravo altered course to the inside to avoid running up on that rival near midstretch. Granted Smart City Doc was slightly clear on both occasions but regardless jockey Luis Saez clearly took U K Girl's path away not once but twice before holding that rival off to post a narrow victory. To make matters worse, there wasn't even a stewards inquiry into the incident. One could sense Bravo's frustrations, and rightly so, as he was pulling up past the wire.

The third race marks the career debut of jockey Jorge Vargas who is the perfectly bred for the craft being the son of two former riders, Jorge Vargas Sr. and Abigail Fuller. He'll debut on She Walks ON Air for trainer Tim Ritvo for whom he gallops in the morning.
