Gulfstream: What a price!

Hard to believe Purple Trillium was allowed to go postward 18-1 in the 6th race. The first time starter is by Seeking the Gold out of the Breeders' Cup winning mare Perfect Spring and a half sister to the promising and still undefeated 3-year-old Smart Sting.  Purple Trillium is trained by Roger Attfield and finished full of run from off the pace under Jose Lezcano to outfinish the consistent Hungry Island who rallied to be second at 10-1.

In the previous race, 2009 Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner Tapitsfly rated kindly on an easy lead then drew off with complete authority to beat a strong field of allowance rivals that included G1 winner Hibaayeb.

The Alligator Alley on top next with trainer Christophe Clement's Longhunter currently holding at 1-2 with the horses still in the paddock as he prepares for his second U.S. start.
