GULFSTREAM: HOW DOES THAT NUMBER NOT COME DOWN!

Email    Once again another head scratching non-call by the stewards and another blatant act of careless riding that again goes unpunished and will only lead to a potentially dangerous situation if not here, then when this same bunch of riders goes across town to Calder.  In this case, seven pound apprentice Leonardo Garcia hit his horse Big John G. six times right handed in the run through midstretch forcing him over and eventually in front of The Spanish Life forcing that rival to steady sharply under ten pound apprentice Shamir Maragh. It even took a while before the inquiry sign was lit despite what appeared even from the naked eye to be an obvious incident at midstretch. This is the third non takedown in just over two weeks in which riders displayed extreme carelessness in the run through the stretch, none of the jockeys getting days to my knowledge.
