Fornatale: NHCQualify.com races announced

There is a one-day NHCQualify.com contest on Sunday, June 1, that will send up to five handicappers to the National Handicapping Championships in Las Vegas, to be held at the Treasure Island from Jan. 24-26, 2015. Buy-in for the qualifier is $165 and entries are limited to two per individual. The races have been announced:

3:39    Monmouth 7
3:55    Belmont 6
4:07    Woodbine 7
4:10    Monmouth 8
4:26    Belmont 7
4:39    Woodbine 8
4:57    Belmont 8
5:12    Monmouth 10
5:30    Santa Anita 4
5:43    Monmouth 11
6:00    Santa Anita 5
6:30    Santa Anita 6

Six of the 11 races are carded for turf, but with good weather expected for New York and California, hopefully that won’t be an issue. The spacing looks really good as well. As always, free Daily Racing Form past performances for the contest races are available via the NHCQualify website.

Public Handicapper Challenge

The races for this weekend for the Public Handicapper Challenge have also been announced. They are all on Saturday.

Race 8 at Woodbine (The Grade 2 Connaught Cup)
Race 9 at Belmont (The Commentator Handicap)
Race 2 at Penn National (The Pennsylvania Governor’s Cup)
Race 8 at Santa Anita (The Grade 2 American Oaks)

The race for the monthly prize is very tight, with the top 50 players separated by only $27.40. The monthly winner gets a 30-day subscription to either DRF Formulator or DRF Classic past performances. And, as always, any player who correctly selects the winner in all four races in a given week will receive a 10-card DRF past-performance plan. It’s not too late, you can still sign up for the Public Handicapper Challenge today.

As an example of the type of race analysis you can find on Public Handicapper, here’s an excerpt of what editor Illiniwes has to say about the Pennsylvania Governor’s Cup: “Last week, a filly beat the boys at Arlington. I’ll take the 5yo mare, Sensible Lady, in here. She is the best closer in a field filled with speed. I’ll look for her to be running late and catch them all. Her last race was her first start since last September. She is 9/10 overall with a 7/13 record at the distance. At 8-1 ML, she is the pick.”

For more analysis from Illiniwes and many others, spend some time over at www.publichandicapper.com. The Editor’s Picks tab is a great place to start, but you can see contestant’s picks and analysis via the Standings tab as well.
