Fornatale: Double the fun as BCQualify, NHC host contests on same set of races

There’s a great opportunity for multi-tabling in the Daily Racing Form family of tournaments Saturday as both BCQualify.com and NHCQualify.com host contests in which players can win into the Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge and National Handicapping Championship, respectively, on the same set of races. If you’re doing the work for one contest anyway, why not consider playing in both?

The buy-in on BCQualify is $190, and up to four full $10,000 BC Betting Challenge seats will be awarded. Note that this is the last chance to qualify online for the BC Betting Challenge. Over on NHCQualify.com, the buy-in is $165, and up to five NHC seats are on the line.

Here are the races that make up both contests:

3:40 Keeneland 6th (1 1/16 miles, allowance, turf)
3:56 Belmont 7th (1 mile, maiden special weight, turf)
4:11 Keeneland 7th (6 1/2 furlongs, allowance, dirt)
4:27 Belmont 8th (1 1/8 miles, Grade 3 Knickerbocker, turf)
4:42 Keeneland 8th (7 furlongs, optional claimer, dirt)
4:58 Belmont 9th (1 mile, claimer, turf)
5:00 Santa Anita 3rd (5 1/2 furlongs, starter allowance, dirt)
5:13 Keeneland 9th (1 1/8 miles, Grade 1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup, turf)
5:30 Santa Anita 4th (1 mile, claiming, turf)
5:44 Keeneland 10th (6 1/2 furlongs, maiden special weight, dirt)
6:00 Santa Anita 5th (6 furlongs, maiden special weight dirt)
6:30 Santa Anita 6th (1 1/8 miles, optional claimer, turf)

The inclusion of three maiden races is a little unusual and provides a little advantage for players who specialize in those affairs. Seven of the races are on turf, so hopefully, the weather will cooperate. The overall spacing looks good, though be aware that the sixth and seventh contest events (race 9 at Belmont and race 3 at Santa Anita) are close together. As always, it’s a good idea to put in default picks before the contest starts so you have something in there should you get distracted.
