1. Frankel wins Queen Elizabeth II to stay undefeated

Frankel wins QEIIFrankel further burnished an already glowing reputation Saturday with an easy win in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot, his ninth victory without a defeat. A Galileo homebred trained by Henry Cecil, Frankel is being lauded as one of the best racehorses in years, and his performance Saturday figures to solidify his position atop the world rankings. 2. Rapid Redux wins No. 18 in a row at Charles Town

Rapid Redux managed to repel two challenges, one early and one late, to secure his 18th consecutive victory Friday night at Charles Town. A 5-year-old gelding who was claimed for $6,250 last fall, Rapid Redux is now one win away from tying the North American record shared by 2010 Horse of the Year Zenyatta and the New Mexico-bred mare Peppers Pride. 3. Two-year-old filly sets Keeneland track record

The 2-year-old filly Applauding is headed to the Hollywood Starlet after smashing the six-furlong record on Polytrack at Keeneland. She won her career debut last Friday by nine lengths. Watch replay »

4. Steven Crist on New York City OTB

"The overnight disappearance of NYCOTB has become a stunning lesson in how the distribution of racing has changed and how adaptable its customers are. There have been casualties of the closure, primarily in the loss of jobs and benefits to former OTB employees, and abandoned obligations to various racing entities, including a $20 million debt to NYRA that is never going to be paid. 5. Longshot filly beats the boys in Canadian International

French filly Sarah Lynx stuns the large Canadian International field at 22-1 odds at Woodbine, earning a 108 Beyer Speed Figure and grabbing the final Breeders' Cup Win and You're In berth of the year. "We’re just over the moon," said her assistant trainer. "She annihilated the colts." Watch replay »
