Fair Grounds: Sloppy Saturday with slowing times

Six races now in the books Saturday. Main track sloppy, off turf. Mostly cloudy, 59 degrees. North wind (cross) 10-16 mph.
Being on the lead is a good thing on this wet main track. Being on the lead at the stretch call had been an essential thing until race 6, where 6-5 favorite Farce Ide rallied from well back at the top of the stretch to win going away. Do note that Farce Ide came up the inside, which seems superior to outside paths.

Winning time for this 6fs La-bred maiden claimer was a startlingly slow 1:15.22. There's been no recent rain, and this track may be starting to dry out, getting more tiring as the day goes on. Class-dropping race 1 winner Holiday Buzz went one mile 70 yards in a decent 1:45.97; race 4 winner Justin Phillip, a promising 3-year-old, went the same distance in 1:46.58 while easily best in an N1X allowance. Further, race 2 maiden-special-weight off-the-turf fillies went 5.5 furlongs in 1:05.37, another decent time that doesn't really match up with clockings later on the card.
