Fair Grounds: Joinem wins Thursday feature, looks like stakes horse

Joinem still hasn't finished worse than second after making his fifth career start in the featured eighth race, and with an impressive closing victory, he now has won three of those five races. Joinem started his career in a $30,000 maiden-claimer in June at Churchill, but won that race by more than 10 lengths, and looks like quite a bit of horse. Jock Shaun Bridgmohan was very patient today, letting Ice Climber get the jump at the five-sixteenths pole, and keeping mid-pack Joinem outside and in the clear. Either Joinem swapped back to his wrong lead late nor never changed leads, but whatever foot was coming forward first, the horse finished powerfully. Decent Tight Grip had made an easy lead and was kicking, but Joinem blew his doors off the final 70 yards. This was an N2X allowance, and N3X spots are hard to find these days. Would't be surprised to see this horse back in the Col. Bradley next month.
