Fair Grounds: Chloe Kate latest Howard-trained 2yo winner

Email

Neil Howard's New Orleans 2-year-olds are rolling. First Wilkinson, then Prime Cut in maiden races, then Perregaux in an entry-level turf-route allowance, and now Chloe Kate in a filly dirt-route maiden -- all winners, and all pretty good-looking winners. Don't know how much Chloe Kate beat here (guessing not much), or how fast she ran (1:46.55 for one and one-sixteenth miles off splits of 24.48, 48.52, 1:14.63), but she rated nicely while down inside, made three moves (one for early position on the first turn, two to reach challenging spot into the far turn, the third to win the race), and scored by something like six lengths in her route debut. Pretty promising daughter of Afleet Alex.
