Fair Grounds: Bye-bye bias

Saturday conditions:
Main track fast, turf good (rail 20 feet out)
Cloudy, 60 degrees, wind northeast (cross/head) 8-12 mph

Friday's powerful speed bias, as suspected, was a one-and-done kind of deal. The track was frozen solid in places Thursday morning, and the mercury dipped below freezing again early Friday morning, and the speed bias yesterday was only a short-term product of weather. Race 1 winner Lucky Tradition did lead all the way today, but that was due to a route pace about the slowest recorded in racing history. Since then the early leader has had no advantage whatsoever.

The turf rail is out, but there's no apparent bias on grass.
