Fair Grounds: 1-9 shots and such

6-5 winner Convicted in the opener and even 3-5 winner Kells Blues in race 4 had nothing on victorious Walk Away Ruler in just-completed race 6. He went off at odds of 1-9 and proceeded to actually win like a 1-9 shot, though I still find it unfathomable how someone could step up and take a big swing on a low-level maiden-claimer sitting on the board at 1-5. You can't argue with success, I guess.

I though the track was playing slow after Convicted's six-furlong race 1 win in 1:12.73, but it turns out that was just an especially pokey performance. The track is producing times in an average range, and doesn't seem biased.
