Del Mar: Yet another upset

Email

The first-time starter Miss Sea Cup ($28.20) pulled a shock upset in Friday's fifth race, strongly increasing the likelihood of a six-figure pick six carryover for Saturday.

Miss Sea Cup (David Flores) ran six furlongs in 1:10.53, finishing a head in front of Evasive Charmer. Raven Wild was third, while 4-5 favorite Bee Eff Eff faded from contention quickly in the final furlong and finished ninth.

Miss Sea Cup is trained by Paddy Gallagher. She was the final winner in a $1 pick three that paid $1,196. The two preceding winners were Mint Humor ($9.80) and Al Instante ($46.40).
