Del Mar: Unlucky trip for Maldonado

Dearly Concerned was unlucky to lose Saturday's fourth race as the 2-1 favorite.

Ridden by Edwin Maldonado, Dearly Concerned was on the rail on the turn and behind fillies in early stretch but rallied well to finish a nose behind upset winner Judicious ($18.80), who was ridden by Joe Talamo. The race was run over six furlongs for $25,000 claimers.

Half of the eight-horse field was claimed. Judicious went from trainer Mark Glatt to Steve Knapp in a two-way shake. Darly Concerned went from trainer Jerry Hollendorfer to Doug O'Neill in a three-way shake. Michailasheartlite, who finished third, went from Jorbe Periban to Hollendorfer. Meter Me Gone, who finished seventh, went from trainer Jack Carava to Adam Kitchingman.

After Saturday's fourth race, there have been 40 horses claimed since the start of the meeting on Wednesday.
