Del Mar: T. Baze off mounts

Email

Jockey Tyler Baze was removed from his mounts on Thursday after failing to appear for a random Breathalyzer test that morning, according to track stewards. Baze had agreed to such testing after failing a Breathalyzer test in late August.

For Thursday's card, Baze was booked on six mounts; five replacement riders have been named.

In the first race, David Flores rides 5-2 morning-line favorite Sentry Duty. Flores has the mount on Bolinas in the second race. In the third race, Victor Espinoza rides Warren's Clyde. In the sixth race, the apprentice jockey Eswan Flores rides Big Wags. In the seventh race, Patrick Valenzuela rides Hopeful Union, the 5-2 favorite on the morning-line.

In the eighth race, a replacement rider is needed on Huntington Harbour.
