Del Mar: Rosario returns to win

Jockey Joel Rosario, unseated in the fifth race when his mount broke down, returned to win Thursday's seventh race on Bailouttheminister ($18.40). Rosario was booked to ride the sixth race, but took off the race while being examined in first aid.

Bailouottheminister ran five furlongs in 56.33 seconds to win an optional claimer over 1 1-2 lengths over Aliza's Dream, who led in early stretch. Bolinas finished third in the field of eight. The stewards conducted an inquiry into the stretch run, reviewing whether an incident in which Aliza's Dream drifted out and forced Bolinas to be checked in the last sixteenth affected the order of finish.

The positions were unchanged after the stewards acknowledged that the incident took place, but ruled that it did not affect the order.

Bailouttheminister was Rosario's second win of the day. He was favored to win a third, on Detective Poirot in the eighth race.
