Del Mar: A remote that was easy to find

Where's the Remote ($4.20) won his second consecutive optional claimer in Saturday's sixth race, the first leg of a pick six that drew a pool of $791,059. Del Mar guaranteed the pool would reach a minimum of $750,000, and it did so with a few minutes to post.

Where's the Remote, a 4-year-old gelding, ran 1 1-16 miles on turf in 1:42.07, rallying three-wide from third to finish a length in front of Universal Peace in the field of 10.

Where's the Remote had won an optional claimer for state-breds over 1 1-16 miles on turf on Aug. 7 by 3 1-4 lengths, and is considered by trainer Mike Mitchell to be a long-range candidate for the California Cup Mile at Hollywood Park on Oct. 30.
