Del Mar: Record payoffs in second


Flemingstouchogold ($143), the longest shot in the field, triggered a record $1 trifecta and 10-cent superfecta payoff in Sunday's second race.

Flemingtouchogold finished a nose in front of 32-1 Warrens Wild Thing, who was a head in front of 13-1 Anga. The $1 trifecta returned $33,461.10, surpassing the previous mark of $13,405 set in 1997.

Including Our Juke Box Hero, who finished fourth as a 9-1 shot, the 10-cent superfecta returned $25,753.65 to four winning dime units. There was no winning $1 units in the pool of $130,082. The previous $1 superfecta record was $133,013, or $13,301.30 for a dime.

Flemingstouchogold was making his second start, having finished 10th of 12 in a maiden claimer at Hollywood Park on July 16. In Sunday's race, he was ridden by apprentice jockey Johnny Gihua for trainer Silverio Martinez.
