Del Mar: Pick six carryover reaches $117,821

An upset win by Lime a Nite ($35) in Wednesday's eighth race has led to a pick six carryover of $117,821 for Thursday's eight-race program at Del Mar.

There were only two winning favorites in Wednesday's pick six races. Aside from Lime a Nite, who outran 3-5 favorite Pious David, the biggest upset of the day came from the frontrunner Queen Mariles ($30.60) in the fifth race.

Thursday's pick six covers the third through eighth races, which includes two turf races and four races on the Polytrack synthetic surface.

There was one early scratch on Wednesday morning - in the seventh race Brenthurst has been withdrawn from an optional claimer over five furlongs on turf. The seventh race is the feature race and has an open feel, led by Quick Enough (3-1 on the morning-line) and Uncle Jeep (7-2).

There is also a carryover of $33,778 in the $1 super high five for Thursday's eighth race. The wager requires bettors to correctly select the first five finishers. Thursdsay's eighth race is a maiden claimer for 2-year-olds over 5 1-2 furlongs that has drawn a field of 10. Certainly Certain, who starts from the rail, and Gibson Home Run, the mount of Patrick Valenzuela, are two leading contenders.
