Del Mar: Pick 6 pays $100,299

Sunny Superstition, making his third start, closed on the inside through the stretch to win a $32,000 claiming race for maidens in the eighth at Del Mar, the final leg of a pick six that paid $100,299 to one ticketholder.

Sunny Superstition finsihed 1 1-2 lengths in front of Run for Miles, the 5-2 favorite, who led for much of the race but was caught in the final furlong.

The winners of Wednesday's pick six races were Miss Georgie Girl ($7.80), Tripped the Light ($3.40), What a Shill ($12.60), King Ledley ($30.20), Ruler of Dubai ($31.80), and Sunny Superstition. Only Tripped the Light was favored.

Ruler of Dubai won the Graduation Stakes for statebreds males against a field of nine. Sherman Bartlebort, the even-money favorite and a key selection on some pick six tickets, could only finish sixth in that field. He failed to take the lead, which he had done in his first three starts, and never posed a serious threat.
