Del Mar: O'Neill claims Big Wig

Big Wig, the even-money favorite who finished third in Wednesday's second race, was claimed for $32,000 in a two-way shake by trainer Doug O'Neill.

Big Wig was trying to win his fourth consecutive race, but was beaten two heads. Mr. Katz ($14.80) finished a head in front of pacesetter Carbon Hoofprint, who was a head in front of Big Wig.

Jockey Martin Pedroza, who finished sixth aboard Racketeer, claimed foul, alleging interference in the stretch when space closed between Mr. Katz and Big Wig, but the stewards ruled that there was not sufficient room for Racketeer to race between those horses.
