Make Music for Me, fourth in the 2010 Kentucky Derby, rallied from well off the pace under jockey Rafael Bejarano to win an optional claimer over 1 1-16 miles on turf in Saturday's seventh race. The win, the 4-year-old colt's third in 17 starts, is likely to lead to a stakes appearance later this summer.

Make Music for Me finished a head in front of Squad, who was a head in front of Ferneley. A half-length separated Ferneley from fourth-place finisher Pleasure to Ride in the field of seven.

Make Music for Me ($6.80) was a slight favorite and was timed in 1:42. Trained by Alexis Barba, Make Music for Me  was winless in four starts since an allowance race at Hollywood Park last fall. He was third in the Grade 2 Strub Stakes in February and seventh in the Godolphin Mile in Dubai in March.

In 2010, he was beaten 4 3-4 lengths by Super Saver in the Kentucky Derby.

Pleasure to Ride was claimed for $62,500 by trainer Julio Canani, the second consecutive claim for that price in as many days.
