Del Mar: Halfway through (formful) pick 6

Halfway through Thursday's pick six, the results have been fairly predictable. The pool began with a carryover of $127,414 from Wednesday. Bettors added $857,927 on Thursday.

Saint Cindy ($13.20) won the first leg, the third race, closing from fifth in a field of eight to win a one-mile race for $8,000 claimers by 2 3-4 lengths in 1:39.46. Sunny Peace, the 3-2 favorite in what seemed like an open race, could only finish fifth after racing in second for the first half-mile.

The fourth and fifth races were won by favorites. D'oro Dancer ($5.80) won a maiden claimer over seven furlongs by a head over Alisal after racing on the rail and then closing between horses in the stretch.

Cayanna ($3.80) won a maiden special weight for 2-year-old fillies on turf by a head over an unlucky Family Plan. Cayanna was timed in 1:36.57. Family Plan reared in the starting gate, was taken out of the stalls and then reloaded. The filly closed well to just miss. Third-place finisher So She Dances also closed well, finishing in the middle of the track.

In the 2-year-old maiden filly race, Arta B Tappin set a quick pace of 22.86 and 47 seconds even though jockey Victor Espinoza's saddle slipped slightly forward.

The $1 pick 3 ending in the fifth race returned $42.50.
