Del Mar: Filly unseats Rosario

Jockey Joel Rosario was taken to first aid after being unseated from Ali's Lake in Thursday's fifth race, a maiden race over a mile on turf for 2-year-old fillies.

Rosario was on the ground briefly, but rose to his feet and walked into an ambulance. Ali's Lake suffered a leg injury when running in the middle of the pack. She was euthanized as a result of her injury, according to track officials.

Sadly, Ali's Lake was a half-sister to the two-time stakes winner Antares World, a winner of $332,988.

Through Wednesday, Rosario was third in the jockey's standings with 22 wins, one less than Rafael Bejarano and Joe Talamo.

Thursday's fifth race was won by Mia Isabel ($10), an Exchange Rate filly owned by Juan Garcia and trained by his son, Victor. Mia Isabel was timed in 1:36.30, and finished 2 1-4 lengths in front of Cascina.
