Del Mar: DQ to start pick 6

Saturday's pick six opened with a disqualification after race winner Pick and Pray, a 9-1 shot, was ruled to have drifted out and interfered with with runner-up Bab at the Bowster in the final sixteenth. After a five-minute review, the stewards reversed the first two finishers, disqualifying Pick and Pray to second. Promoted winner Bab at the Bowster ($9.20) was the second choice in the betting.

The pick six had a strong pool of $317,534.

Not surprisingly for a sprint for $16,000 claimers, a popular division, there were five claims in the field of eight, including Bab at the Bowster who was taken in a two-way shake by Peter Miller. Fourth-place finisher Lisa Lulu was claimed by Jack Carava. Cool Haleigh, who finished fifth, was claimed in a two-way shake by Bob Hess, Jr.

Lutess, who was sixth, was taken in a two-way shake by Danny Velasquez. Motel Stroll, who finished seventh, was claimed by Bill Spawr in a three-way shake.
