Del Mar: Carryover reaches $1,597,470

There is a three-day carryover of $1,597,470 for Saturday's 10-race program after Haimish Hy ($64.20) pulled an upset win in Friday's El Cajon Stakes, the fifth leg of a pick six.

There were 179 permutations still alive going into the second-to-last leg but many tickets were certainly keyed to Goggles McCoy, the 3-2 favorite who was seeking to extend his winning streak to five races in his first start around two turns. Goggles McCoy led to the eighth pole and faded to finish fourth.

Goggles McCoy is trained by Steve Sherman, while Hamish Hy is trained by his father, Art. Hamish Hy made his first start in the El Cajon Stakes since a second in the El Camino Real Derby at Golden Gate Fields in February.
