Del Mar: Carryover reaches $142,756


Three straight longshot winners, including Spartan Jet ($61.60) in the sixth race on  Saturday, has led to a pick six carryover of $142,756 for Sunday at Del Mar.

Sunday's pick six covers the fifth through 10th races on a program that begins at 2 p.m. There are early scratches in two of the six races in Sunday's pick six. In the fifth race, Knucklebuster and Cranky Jack are withdrawn. In the seventh race, Fleet Continental will not run.

The feature race on Sunday is the $250,000 John Mabee Stakes for fillies and mares on turf, the ninth race. Harmonious is the 5-2 favorite and has drawn the rail in a field of eight that includes contenders such as Celtic Princess, Cozi Rosie, Wasted Tears and Malibu Pier.

Saturday's 50-cent super high five paid $21,426 in the 10th race, which was won by favored El Nadia ($5.80), who was followwed by Powerofvoodoo (27-1), Entabeni (7-1), Bella Roja (5-1) and Attar of Rose (7-1). Favorites won the last two races on Saturday.  El Nadia ran a mile on tuf in 1:37.21, winning by three-quarters of a length. El Nadia, 8, was claimed in a two-way shake by trainer Doug O'Neill.

The super high five began with a carryover of $32,235 from Friday. Bettors added $122,364 to the pool on Saturday.
