Email

Aqua Fever ($16.20) closed between horses to win his second consecutive race in Saturday's fifth race, the first leg of a pick six that drew a pool of $267,222.

Ridden by Edwin Maldonado, his second victory of the meeting, Aqua Fever, the fifth choice in the betting, finished a half-length in front of 26-1 T J's Passion. Nahem, the winner of the $150,000 Snow Chief Stakes, finished third in the field of nine 3-year-olds. Aqua Fever ran a mile on turf in 1:35.47.

There were four claims in the race, though none for Aqua Fever. Nahem was taken in a two-way shake by Doug O'Neill; Photo Shopped, who finished fourth, was claimed by Jerry Hollendorfer; Moment of Weakness, who finished fifth, was claimed by Vann Belvoir; and Fifth Dimension, who was sixth, was claimed by Bill Spawr in a two-way shake.
