  2:20 pm: Let's be grateful there wasn't a three-day $883k carryover into Day 16. It's a pretty grim card, the kind you knew we'd eventually see on a Thursday at the last track in America that still tries to race six days a week.

11:30 am: Today's Saratoga pick-6, which begins with a two-day $232k carryover, is an unusual sequence: It starts with a stakes race (at a mile and a half), moves on to a four-horse field (five of the nine entered in race 6 have been scratched) and does not include a single race for 2-year-olds.

12:40 pm: The upcoming Gleaming Stakes is the only one of today's five scheduled grass races left on the turf. Races 4,7,8 and 10 are now all going to be run on the main track, with the two 5.5f races staying at that distance and the one-mile races cut back to 7f.
