THE FUGUE is the kind of horse that deserves more press. Sure, the 5-year-old mare has banked over $2.6M, owns three Group 1 victories (Nassau Stakes, Yorkshire Oaks, Irish Champion Stakes) and has cracked the trifecta in two Breeders' Cup events. If not for some bad luck, however, her record would look even better.

SOCIAL INCLUSION received most of last week's headlines, and deservedly so, following a 111-Beyer romp over top Derby prospect Honor Code at Gulfstream Park. Two races earlier, however, another gate-to-wire winner gave a noteworthy performance.

I didn't pick him, but I was absolutely thrilled to see GAME ON DUDE back in the winner's circle following a spectacular effort in the Santa Anita Handicap. Lots of folks thought the 7-year-old was slowing down just a bit. You couldn't blame them as Game On Dude was entering the 'Big Cap following three straight losses (you'd have to go back to 2011 to find the last time Game On Dude lost two in a row).

This week's 3-year-old spotlight shines on a pair of Florida-bred colts. Although they sport identical dosage profiles, one looks like a strong router while the other could be more of a middle-distance performer.  Both will likely attempt stakes competition in the near future.
