There are three facebook pages I visit each day. HDG, Zenyatta who is expecting soon, and her half-sister Eblouissante who is in training with John Shirreffs and is to have her debut race early Spring. So pleased the media is spotlighting our fabulous girls. 2012 is already showing much to be excited about.

She seems to look so much like her magnificent sire (and my most favorite horse), any future plans for a blog entry comparing the two? [ please! :o) ]
Barbara, What a lovely mare! She is so worthy of the honor, her connections as well! You have to like Larry Jones and that smile! I'm happy for both of them. The orange bucket makes me smile too! Your photos are wonderful! ........ No rush but I too would be interested in seeing the Easy Goer gallery, when time allows. Take care.

Just Loving these photos! Best day at Saratoga was tagging along and waiting for her van to arrive. She was royal coming off that trailer,,,such a magic moment watching HDG and Larry assessing the track and seeing the bond between them. Thanks so much for the memories, and the day!
Beautiful pics of my favorite girl....thanks!
Thank you for the wonderful study of Havre de Grace. What a shame her sire had such a short life. Looking forward to 2012.
Great Pictures. But one is missing -- haha. I would to see one of her fighting it out with her greatest competition during the year -- Blind Luck (another great filly). I thought even though Havre de Grace didnt win the Del Cap -- It was the best race of the year. Her and Blind Luck battling it out down the stretch -- that day the fans were the big winners we got to see a classic memorable race.

I can look at her all day Barbara. Thank you for sharing these gorgeous pictures.
Stunning subject and photography! I especially love the images of Larry and Havre de Grace; a beautiful mare and a wonderful, gracious trainer. Well deserved Horse Of The Year, she captured our imaginations and helped rekindle the love of racing.
Lovely tribute to a lovely, talented filly and team! Thanks for all the wonderful pictures and memories!
WoW ! Really, great stuff, Barbara
Thank you
Thank you for such wonderful photos of such a beautiful subject. I love them all!
Such AMAZING Photographs!!!!!!
I know this is a Havre de Grace column, but I wanted you to know that is an awesome photo you took of Union Rags. It captures the beauty of his movement and attitude.
Thanks Barbara, fantastic Havre de Grace gallery. I went on your website recently, and was wondering what happened to your Easy Goer gallery?
What a treat these photos are, thank you.
Oh, this girl is a real LuLu. Such a looker.
She had a great year in 2011, and yet people can get the best of both worlds.
A championship run, and another season yet to come.
I sense she says, “Bring it on.”
But that might just be me.
Thanks to all!
What a beautiful, fine, majestic head she has, and that St. Liam long body and legs.
She has that regal look and if very aware of her surroundings.
You have such an excellent touch with your photographs. You capture the light and movement and position of the horse so very well that at times its literally breathtaking. You have a GIFT!
Congratulations to Havre de Grace and all her great team!!!
Love HDG's alert, curious expression, as seen in these beautiful photos! Also, with the foaling season gearing up, any chance you could post photos of the new arrivals? The 2012 offspring of famous racemares, first-crop sires, and so on, would be great to see ...
She's such a beauty, and your photos show her off beautifully! To both of you: You go, girl!
Love the "airs above the ground." She was always "rearin'" to go. The lady loved her job and just wanted to get to it.
She is absolutely gorgeous !! You always take such beautiful pictures. I love the picture of Larry with the orange bucket too. And Ramon as her regular rider is fantastic. What a thrill for me to see them last October at Belmont. Both of them getting the Eclipse Awards is most deserving.
You don't have to be an expert to look at those photos and tell that this is a serious racehorse. Absolutely fantastic.
Personally love that first, "You lookin' at me" photo. But there are several along similar lines, so someone apparently knows how to get the newly minted Horse O' the Year's attention.
Look forward to seeing her race some more, and of course, her quick pics:)

A creditable third last out stamps SMART HOMBRE as a possible standout in this maiden-20. He dueled on fast fractions, shook off his pace foes (they finished seventh and ninth), and missed by only a half-length. Now he shortens from six and one-half furlongs to six, and meets a field with less speed. He he can lead gate to wire as the most probable winner on the card. LINCECUM is 0-for-10, but has ability. He had a tough trip Jan. 13, and returned with a decent third last time while racing behind runners. One of these days he will get a clear trip and win a race such as this.
