Churchill: Theriot two-for-two heading into the seventh race

Jockey Jamie Theriot, quiet at Churchill last week after winning a pair of Breeders' Cup races, is two-for-two through the sixth race on the Wednesday card.

He piloted Vivo Per Lei to victory in the second race, a straight maiden contest for 2-year-old fillies, and Hitch Your Wagon to a dominate score over $10,000 claimers in the sixth. The former paid $5.80, the latter $7.

Now, as I write this with six minutes until post for the 7th, he is on Miss Silver Rose - a longshot in race seven.

As for the Churchill main track, it seems to be playing fairly to all styles and paths. Officially "good" for the first two races, it was upgraded to fast for race three.

The track has been in top condition and harrowed all afternoon, however. It very easily could have been called "fast" from the start.

The scheduled turf races were moved to the main track following persistent rain on Tuesday.
