Churchill Downs: Sun. scratches, etc.

Email

High temps in the 90s once again await the ontrack faithful for a 10-race Sunday card that starts at the usual 12:45 ET. There's one alw on the entire card (race 9), a minuscule carryover in the $2 pick 6 (races 5-10), and no carryover in the $1 super high five (race 10). We'll go dark for 3 days before another 4-day race week ensues Thursday, with everyone's focus here and elsewhere being on New York, where they'll run the 143rd Belmont Stakes next Saturday.

Quite a day yesterday for one K.G.McPeek, who swept the G3, $100k stakes with Salty Strike (Dogwood) and the new millionaire, Noble's Promise (Aristides). McPeek looked like he'd have at least another winner today with Dark Cove in a starter-alw turf route (race 3), but he's scratched. Speaking of scratches, here follow the early changes for the card, which will be run over a fast main track and a firm turf. Good luck today.
