Churchill Downs: 2-year-old Kantharos romps in fourth

Jess Jackson of Stonestreet has another runner in his stable...his name is Kantharos.

A 2-year-old by Lion Heart, purchased for $250,000 by Stonestreet Stable at the Ocala Breeders' Sale earlier this year, romped at first asking in the fourth race under a hand ride from Robby Albarado. He raced five furlongs on a sloppy main track in 57.99 seconds, paying $4 as the favorite.

As you would expect from a horse that fetched $250,000 at auction, this is a good-looking horse, and based on his performance, he figures to become a major player in the 2-year-old division.
