Calder: Wins off two year layoff

Despite having been away two years and five months, St. Galo was able to win the eighth race and did so in game fashion, re-asserting himself after relinquishing the lead to Im Good At That leaving the turn to register the victory. The fact St. Galo was ready to win off the bench no secret as he was pounded to 5-2 despite the long hiatus.

The racetrack continues to favor horses either on or forwardly placed which was a pattern that also existed for the bulk of last week as well.

Jockey John Delgado has also lost two of his seven pound apprentice allowance after guiding Hummingbird Songs to victory for leading trainer Steve Dwoskin in the 7th race for his 40th career win.
