Calder: Where you going jock?

Email

If Luis Saez loses the nip and tuck battle for leading jockey honors with Manoel Cruz he can look back on his ride aboard 3-5 favorite Green Vegas in the eighth race as the reason why. After getting himself in tough position in  the run down the backstretch, Saez tried to slip the rail and then split a hole that wasn't there near the eighth pole instead of just wheeling the best horse around rivals from where he probably would have had no problem wearing down the leaders. Instead he got stood on his ear trying to get through the non-existant hole and wound up life and death just to recover in time to finish third behind pace dueling beneficiary Bidham who wound up posting a wire to wire win.
