CALDER: A three horse field

The switch from turf to dirt has decimated today's seventh race. Somehow the stewards allowed six of the nine fillies and mares entered for the entry level allowance race to scratch, leaving only three starts led by Dandys Essence who figures to go postward 1-5 with Dance of the Tiger and Stinger Gal the only two left in the lineup.  Fortunately the upcoming fifth race held together quite well despite the surface switch with no scratches out of the original body of the race and two more starters added with the move to the main track, making a scheduled eight horse field now 10.  Flyin Trey, who likely would have been favored no matter the surface, is currently 3-2 on the board with 12 minutes left to post.

By the way, look for first time starter My Valentino to take plenty of action when the board opens for the sixth race. A lot of buzz around about this filly.
