CALDER: My bad

I apologize for giving out wrong info in the seventh race which scratched down to five starters, not three and was ultimately one by the longest price on the board, Stinger Gal, at 20-1.

As a follow-up to the fifth race theory regarding jockey Saez, the young veteran did the same exact thing in the sixth when losing control of his mount Swift Warrior through midstretch, lugging in to bump a tiring Shankopotamus before running on to finish third. Once again the stewards let the result stand as is because it did not effect the outcome but need to take strict action against Saez in the form of extended days before somebody gets hurt out there.  By the way there is definitely no love lost between Saez and Manny Cruz who claimed foul aboard Shankopotamus despite finishing a badly beaten fifth.

The sixth was won by Uno Caliente, my top choice in today's Analysis at 9-1, who wired a loaded field making his first start for trainer Bill White and first with blinkers on.  Defeated another well meant firster Megalith with the buzz horse My Valentino finishing a tiring fourth after forcing the issue from the outset.
