Calder: Improving 3-year-olds

Royal Tricon and Peace at Dawn,  a couple of improving 3-year-olds, dominated the afternoon's two allowance races. Royal Tricon won for the second time in three starts when rallying from dead last, circling the field into the stretch en route to another easy win while giving jockey Eduardo Nunez his second tally on the card.  Peace at Dawn, fresh off a 98 Beyer Speed Figure performance earlier this month, stalked a contested pace then bulled his way between horses under jockey Paco Lopez to beat a fast field of $75,000 optional claiming and allowance horses including Gaucho who was hard used on the lead and saw his three race win streak come to an end.
