Calder: Imperial Czar upsets American Dreamer

American Czar proved no match for Too Experience in their previous meeting under allowance conditions but turned the tables when it counted, in Saturday's American Dream Stakes. Taking advantage of what might be a track biased towards the outside, American Czar circled three wide with a quick move to overtake the tiring Andersonstate turning for home and drew off to an easy win over the rail skimming, 6-5 Too Experience. The win was the second in the last three starts for American Czar who paid $20.80.

The racetrack was upgraded from good to fast after the third race. Tiz the Argument got the day off to an impressive start when cruising to an eight length maiden win in the opener. The 3-year-old filly was no secret as she was pounded to 4-5 off a couple of fast works and despite one bad running line at 2.  Majestic Maria did well to finish second after being bothered at the start when Dazzling Dove stumbled and lost her rider out of the gate. It marked the second time in as many starts jockey Alexa Boulanger has been unseated after the break.

Only four horses going postward in the off the turf sixth event with five of the original nine entrants out due to the surface switch. Main track only entrant With Moms Blessing 4/5 and the most likely entrant as a result of the change in venue.
