Calder: Hardly a man alive...

.... can survive at 1-5!  The old motto held true in today's second race after first time starter R Girl's Loaded was bet to 1-5 for her career debut and finished a bad second behind the experienced Descuidada.  What possess' anybody to take 1-5 on any horse, let alone a 2-year-old first time starter racing under a $16,000 price tag, is beyond me, but then again as P T Barnum said.  Well you know how that goes.  R Girl's Load showed early speed, dueling briefly with the ultimately winner before proving no match througnh the final quarter mile, racing awkward and on the wrong lead all the way down the lane. Backers of Descuidada benefitted from the lunacy and were reward with an $11.00 mutuel.
