Calder: Dead rail for sure

Email

Any doubt the rail is no good should have vanished after the last two races. In the seventh, 4-5 Vee's Accolade stalked the speedy Dark Force from outside, gained the lead turning for home then dropped to the fence and got picked up by Red Hills who took back off the early leaders and angled wide into the better going for the drive.  In the eighth race, the public pounded Three Ways Home to even money on the fence from where she had no chance after contesting the pace on the rail. Lila Louann got a perfect stalking trip and made the most of the opportunity, cruising to an easy win despite switching leads several times through the stretch.

Will be interesting to see what happens in the ninth event with the two favorites, Uno Caliente and Little Drama breaking in post positions one and two. Could set things up for something closing outside like a Motin or even longshot Elissa'royalimage if their riders do the right thing and rally up wide into the stretch.
