Breeders Crown Eliminations: 2-year-olds

The Breeders Crown eliminations for 2-year-olds were contested on Friday at Woodbine Racetrack. Let’s take a look at the most interesting qualifiers for the finals on October 29.

2-year-old Colt and Gelding Trot

POSSESS THE WILL never had an anxious moment while taking the first of two divisions.

LITTLE BROWN FOX saved ground and found himself behind a group of horses in the lane. It was hard to say how much more he could have gone with clear sailing.

UNCLE PETER won the second split with a quick brush. He won by less than a length but did not appear all out.

ROYAL SHYSTER made a break behind the gate and spotted the field about five lengths. As the race progressed he kept picking up poor cover and did a good job to sneak into the final.

2-year-old Filly Trot

CHECK ME OUT made one move to the front and never looked back. She won as easily as possible.

2-year-old Colt and Gelding Pace

A ROCKNROLL DANCE uncorked a big turn of speed to make the front at the half and won under mild urging.

HURRIKANE KINGCOLE was scattered wide at the three quarter call when another foe broke. He was then sent to the rail and had to wait for room before finishing up fast.

SWEET LOU won the second division with an eye-catching stretch rally to blow by the leaders.

SING FOR ME GEORGE attacked the leader hard while first over and led for a short while before Sweet Lou gobbled him up. It was certainly a good effort.

The 3-year-olds and Older horses take the track on Saturday. I’ll file a report on the standout performers on Sunday.
