MAJOR PICK 6 CARRYOVER ALERT
At Belmont and Hollywood, longshots on Sunday mean big bucks on Thursday.
Thursday’s cards at Belmont and Hollywood will feature pick-six carryovers worth $251,315 and $111,858, respectively.
At Belmont on Sunday, most tickets were dead after the first two races when the favorites faltered and the winners paid $21 and $45. In three consecutive races at Hollywood there were payoffs of $18, $18.40, and $44.60 while a 4-5 favorite placed in the following race.
Thursday now figures to be an action-packed day of tricky tickets as the Belmont card kicks off at 12:50 p.m. Eastern and the pick six starts in race 4 at 2:26. The Hollywood races begin 4 p.m. Eastern and the pick six gets under way with race 3 at 5:03 p.m. ET.

Belmont Park Pick 6: $251,315 Carryover
Pick 6: Race 4 - 9 (Race 4 post time: 2:26 ET)
Belmont’s first weekday card will be on Thursday this week as NYRA gears up to shift its focus to Saratoga, which opens July 20.
The hefty carryover gives life to a collection of races, four of which will be on the grass and four of which feature maidens.
Race 4 begins it on the turf with an 11-horse field — with an additional two main-track-only horses — duking it out in a seven-furlong turf race. The fifth will follow that up on the inner turf with 2-year-old fillies going three-quarters of a mile in a $70,000 maiden special weight.
The first route of the pick six comes in race 6, when 3-year-old fillies will go a mile on the turf in a maiden claimer, while the seventh is a maiden claimer on dirt with 3-year-olds and up going a mile on dirt.
Race 8 could be interesting with an eight-horse field in a starter optional claimer and $55,000 purse featuring two horses up for grabs. Appropriately, the pick six’s final race will make it quite difficult on bettors with a seven-furlong race on the grass that has 12 entries and an additional three alternates.
Betfair Hollywood Park Pick 6: $111,858 Carryover
Pick 6: Race 3 - 8 (Race 3 post time: 5:03 p.m. ET)
The Hollywood pick-six races feature small fields for betters with just one race of nine horses being the largest. Seven horses will begin the action in race 3, going 1 1/16 miles in a $25,000 claimer.
It should get more interesting beginning in the fourth race when the Doug O'Neill-trained Et Tu Walker will go off as the early favorite after scratching on Sunday.
In the fifth and sixth races, all eyes will be on trainer John Sadler, who will have horses in each -- a one-mile, $52,000 allowance and a 1 1/16-mile, $50,000 maiden special weight.
Statebred fillies and mares will sprint six furlongs in the seventh race, an optional claiming allowance, for $52,000. The pick six will conclude with 2-year-olds battling for a $50,000 purse in a six-furlong maiden special weight sprint.
Best Bets
Runner-up in the Santa Anita Oaks, IOTAPA drops in class and shortens to a sprint with sharp recent works on the BHP surface. Oaks winner Beholder returned to finish second in the Kentucky Oaks; Oaks third Fiftyshadesofhay was one of the favorites Friday in the Black Eyed Susan at Pimlico. The point is, IOTAPA faced a good bunch last out. She specifically targeted this race, gets pace to run at, loves the track, and can mow them down as the favorite. She must catch two good front-runners.
