This may be an idiotic question, but... Is there any way to tell if a horse changes leads when you can't see their legs? When I am reviewing a race replay often times I will have a horse that is down on the rail and you can't clearly see their legs. Is there any other clue?
Steve T.

I get very frustrated when a horse I'm watching is completely obscured by other rivals in the stretch.  It is difficult to see if they've changed and remained on their correct lead.  My advice would be to check the head-on replay for confirmation.  While it is more difficult to spot on the head-on, you may get a better idea watching the stretch run this way.

Speaking of the 1984 Breeders' Cup - with the death of Wild Again, how bout posting the PP's for Wild Again, Gate Dancer & Slew O' Gold?

Here they are:

Handigambling Selection:
Slim pickins for Wednesday's exercise. I've selected the 8th at Calder, a 1 1/16 on turf for maiden claiming fillies and mares. I don't recall if we've had a race from Calder, and with Calder being a "focus" track for some of us for the next month or so I thought a good time.

Congrats to alhattab for earning the biggest profit in last week's HandiGambling race.  Here are the past performances for his race selection on Wednesday:

Let's talk about front wraps, workout times, and some HandiGambling plays in Wednesday's blog.

Take care,

Turn Back The Alarm, I wish not knowing the origin of the name Court and Spark were a product of age. I remember Lydell Mitchell for the Baltimore Colts. Great back with great hands! Highly underrated! I remember Cameron Mitchell from the t.v. series High Chapparal. I even remember the outfielder who played for the Oakland A's Mitchell Page. Of course, I have heard OF Joni Mitchell, just never HEARD her, if you know what I mean. I was too busy playing and watching sports and watching t.v. westerns, apparently.

Forgot to mention a few things before I run to a 2pm meeting... Now here is race to handicap and watch tomorrow - can't help but think a few a these will remain on "The Road for the Roses": http://www.brisnet.com/bris_link/pdfs/dougoneill_133210.pdf Speaking of the Derby, I'm considering gearing up for another year of Formblog's Derby Dreaming. This year, rather than pick 10 2yos in December (BTW, Where Oh Where can my Alaazo be...), I thought why not a "Pick each Derby prep" contest? We'd pick each graded dirt non-filly 3yo stakes race leading to the Derby, similar to our Breeders' Cup contest. Here are suggested rules (sorry...would like to still keep from penalizing non-players for missing an individual race): http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=p0punDkqmTL6-vxV9onbJbw&gid=7 Here are a list of the Derby graded dirt prep races: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=p0punDkqmTL6-vxV9onbJbw&gid=0 I'll donate crabcakes to the contest winner. Additional contest prizes, as always, would be graciously accepted!! Anyone interested in yet another contest???

Hg 113 A couple of additional comments: #5 ONE MARCH and #6 JACK'S GRACE maybe helped by the move inside from the 11 and 10 post position respectively last out. If they get in: #11 FRISKY Pj'S and #12 MUCHADO may not be helped by the outside post position.

Steve T, You needn't remind me about Joe'sgoldengirl. However, singles were very difficult to come by in this sequence, for me anywaY. Just couldn't find anyone else to be my second single. So, I just have to take my chances and hope for the best. At least the agony of the singles will be over early. lol I suppose I should take a look at Handigambling 113?, but my heart's not really in it. Annie

When it comes to the Pick6, I’m cheap, so I look for at least 3 singles to make the play. In this case, there are no clear singles at all, so I’m forcing it a little by only singling 2 races because I love the chatter about the Pk6 play at HOL. I will play the card (depending on scratches, etc.) as listed below. I chose as my singles Joe’sgirlisgolden in the 4th because she won her first two and showed grit in last and Twin Turbo in the 6th because he seems to be the most consistent and the trainer. I’m trying to limit my exposure to under $40, so here’s my card: Race 3 $2 Pick 6: 2, 3 / 1 / 1, 2 / 5 / 1, 5 / 4, 6 ($32) Good luck to all.
